An even number of pots are laid out, there should be a minimum of ten to make the game effective. In half the pots items or liquids are placed that give off a distinctive smell. In the other half the same items are placed. So you end up with two pots containing the same thing. The pots are then mixed up. One at a time a player is blindfolded (make sure they cannot peek down their nose) and led to the table where the pots are. They must then try to match up the pots. Whoever does it in the quickest time is the winner.
