One player is chosen to be the deer, they are blindfolded and have a cloth tail put a in their back pocket. Lead them to one spot in the play area they cannot move from here, but can turn on the spot. The other players pretend to be mountain lions. Instruct the mountain lions to start at least 20 feet away from the deer, and slowly stalk the deer. Cue them to begin stalking when you say ";go";, but instruct them to stop immediately when you say ";freeze"; They cannot move until you tell them to. Instruct the deer to listen for the predators approaching, and when they hear something to point in its direction (within two to three degrees) and shout ";Starve!";If the deer is correct, that lion is out must quietly sit down until the round is over. (To make the event more realistic, limit the number of times the deer can say starve to the number of predators plus five.) Tell the predators that if one of them gets close enough to the deer to snatch its cloth tail, then the deer is dead and the predator that kills the deer becomes the next deer.
